SUSTAIN-6G
Enablers / Technology Domains
Network Domains
SUSTAIN-6G will identify the cross-points between what sustainability needs are, which challenges 6G and verticals need to consider, what 6G should do to address these challenges, and how society and economy benefit from responsible innovation. To achieve this, the project will provide a driving force for multiple activities and a hub to integrate research and innovation from previous and ongoing projects, develop innovative concepts and solutions, and address gaps and trade-offs in technology, processes and methodologies.
6G-DALI
Enablers / Technology Domains
Network Domains
Despite the opportunities, several gaps hinder the adoption of AI/ML in 6G, such as the lack of extensive and high-quality datasets that are required to train the models. On the other hand, AI model testing and performance evaluation in a representative staging environment (by emulation or real deployment) is also challenging without access to an end-to-end 6G testbed or representative Digital Twin environment. To this end, 6G-DALI aims to deliver an end-to-end AI framework for 6G, structured in two interdependent pillars:
(1) AI experimentation as a service via MLOps and
(2) Data and analytics collection and storage via DataOps.
X-TREME 6G
Enablers / Technology Domains
Network Domains
X-TREME 6G proposal relies on a unique industry-led consortium to provide a foundational open microelectronics platform in Europe to create and design key disruptive next-generation chiplets and chipsets for 6G use cases. The idea is to break up the full potential of best-in-class Silicon BiCMOS, InP and heterogeneous 3D integration for high-capacity radio access technologies such as wireless back-hauling at sub-TeraHertz frequencies, Joint Communication And Sensing, Non-Terrestrial Networks and Network as a Sensor. New classes of chipsets will unleash the full potential of 6G and enable the emergence of new applications through specific developments for the underpinning novel microelectronic technologies.
6G-VERSUS
Enablers / Technology Domains
Network Domains
6G-VERSUS addresses pressing challenges in 5 environmentally conscious vertical industries. In this regard, 6G-VERSUS introduces a novel methodology, transforming existing use cases into 6G applications, comprising Vertical App (V-App), Network App (N-App), and AI-assisted App (AI-App). This triad structure optimises the data and control planes of 6G systems, facilitating seamless information flow and decision-making processes. With the support of six (Stream C) 6G platforms spanning across Europe, 6G-VERSUS aims to demonstrate the profound sustainable, economic and societal impact of 6G technology, propelling towards a more sustainable and prosperous society.
AMAZING-6G
Enablers / Technology Domains
Network Domains
AMAZING-6G proposes a novel set of 14 use cases in the domains of Healthcare, Public Safety, Energy and Transport (including Rail), which will be showcased in large-scale trials and pilots across Europe. Innovative technology enablers are planned to be developed and tested in the areas of Communications, Compute-as-a-Service, Applications and AI, IoT and localisation. Security aspects will be taken into consideration in the development of solutions. Framed in this context, the significance of large-scale trials in B5G/6G networks lies not only in their ability to validate the technical capabilities of the technology but also in their capacity to unveil new use cases and applications that were previously inconceivable.
SNS CO-OP
The SNS CO-OP project is devoted to supporting and facilitating the activities of the SNS Initiative under the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU).
The SNS CO-OP project will achieve this by orchestrating and organising strategic activities, in collaboration with the SNS JU Office and the 6G Industry Association, to capture and promote the European Industry view on 6G, the achievements of the 6G SNS initiative and projects, and to promote the ambitions of the SNS JU.
